Lena Kami is a visual artist and has formerly studied social science. She was born in Berlin and has lived in Shanghai, Tanzania, New York and Berlin. Kamis main focus in her art work is oil on canvas but she also works with other materials like paper, glass and bronze.
Her art work is influenced by the Japanese writer Haruki Murakami and his magic realism where realism and surrealism entangle. While Murakami plays with words, she plays with colours, forms and techniques to explore the physicality of colour.
