Dima Gorbunov is a Russian artist, born in Toliati in 1985. His career began in St. Petersburg where he graduated from the Rerih Arts College with a degree in sculpture and went on to study at The Russian Academy of Arts. During his studies, Gorbunov took part in numerous exhibitions run by the Russian Artist Union, before he decided to pursue his artistic career independently. After hosting a successful exhibition in the South of France, Dima’s works have become popular with Fine and Modern Art collectors throughout Europe.
Dima’s collection of paintings portrays figures that, like flies, are unable to resist the tempting lights of the night. The illusion that the bright night will guide individuals to fulfil their fantasies and desires traps the ‘heroes’ in a cycle of time. They repeatedly return to the start of their journey with the hope of self-fulfilment, thus re-living the night all over again.
