Taiquan Tian

Taiquan Tian was born in 1960 in Chongqing, Sichuan Province, China. He graduated from Sichuan Fine Art Institute and shortly thereafter entered the Chongqing Contemporary Art Center. Tian's works use repeating imagery to show the impact of China’s rapid development. Broken bodies and faded uniforms express the struggle for identification that takes place within the dark reality of a torn relationship between contemporary Chinese culture and history.
