Mimi Harteg prefers painting in large formats, but challenges herself to make smaller format paintings as well. Her artworks are expressionistic, in bold, purecolors, never adding a single drop of black. She is fascinated by the nude human body. Displaying physical nudity is like undressing the soul and pulling out blue feelings and golden stories. Sex should not be associated with pornography. Mimi believes sex is a natural, powerful and crucial human energy, which can be followed by all kinds of feelings, good and bad. Her main interests are relationships. The relation to oneself an done’s own feelings, thoughts, dreams and situations inlife. Most of all, the relationships between people. Her paintings contend deep feelings with a hint of the blues. Nonetheless, Mimi’s perspective on life is tinged with a distinct sense of humor.
