Fernando Arias van Oordt

As the son of expatriate parents of Dutch and Spanish origin, Fernando Arias van Oordt travelled the world extensively throughout his childhood. It was during his stay in Sophia, Bulgaria in 2006 that Van Oordt’s interest in the arts grew. Soon after finishing his studies at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, he joined forces with Spanish Designer Nacho Carbonell and established “Kunst Zonder Kapsones” (Eindhoven, 2007), a temporary gallery exhibiting contemporary Eastern European art. Fernando works primarily with metal casted zinc in the field of design and sculpture. The quality of the zinc, in comparison to other metals, adds character, shine and warmth, and it does not deteriorate with time.
